    Our Privacy Principles

    We use personal information for communication, customer service, and service delivery.
    Personal data is processed centrally at the KAVI office in Helsinki.
    Personal data is also used for permitted marketing and advertising targeting.
    By default, we do not disclose personal information to external organizations.

    Cookies
    When you visit KAVI's ElonetPlus service, your web browser automatically stores cookies on your device's hard drive. A cookie may contain text, numbers, dates, location data, and other data, but it does not store any personal information. A cookie is not an application, and it cannot introduce viruses or other malware to your computer. Cookies do not harm your device in any way.
    Cookies help determine the number of visitors to the site, remember choices made on the site (e.g., language preferences), track how the site is used (click paths), and target and manage advertising (e.g., not displaying the same ads multiple times). However, we do not track individual visitor data; instead, we aggregate visitor information based on behavior and geographical location.
    Through cookies, we aim to enhance the user experience on our site and deliver advertising that is of interest to the users.

  7. Legal Basis and Purpose of Personal Data Processing
  8. General requirements according to Section 8 of the Personal Data Act and Chapter 2 of the EU Data Protection Regulation.
    The purpose of processing personal data is to communicate information about KAVI's ElonetPlus service and its new content. The processing of necessary personal data is a prerequisite for achieving this purpose. The legal basis for processing personal data is consent.
    The most typical use areas for data include:
    Service development, digital marketing, customer surveys, and opinion research.
    KAVI's ElonetPlus retains only the data that is necessary for the operation of the service and the intended purposes of data usage, with a legal basis for processing. Data that becomes unnecessary and for which there is no longer a basis for processing will be anonymized or securely destroyed.
    Personal data may be processed by third parties in accordance with applicable legislation, including marketing, remote sales, and market research, among others. Third parties may include advertising agencies, printing houses, or similar partners who support the fulfillment of the registry's purpose.
    KAVI has appropriate agreements in place with these third parties for the processing of personal data.

  10. The Marketing Registry may process the following information:
    • Name
    • Contact information (email)
    • Address source (how the address was added to the registry)
    • History of contact details
  11. Regular Data Sources
  12. Personal data for the Marketing Registry is collected from individuals who have provided their contact information to KAVI during the registration process for the ElonetPlus service and possibly from individuals who have subscribed to the ElonetPlus service newsletter. Providing the necessary information is a prerequisite for receiving marketing communications as mentioned above.
    The registry does not perform automatic updates.
  13. Regular Data Disclosures
  14. KAVI does not disclose the information of individuals in its registry to external parties for purposes other than those specified in this registry description and for fulfilling its legal obligations or enforcing its rights, without the explicit and informed consent of the individuals concerned.
    The personal data of registrants may be processed by KAVI's partners who are involved in the implementation of marketing for the ElonetPlus service or for potential customer or opinion research. KAVI has appropriate agreements in place with these third parties for the processing of personal data.
  15. Transfer of Data Outside the EU or the European Economic Area
  16. KAVI does not transfer the data in its stakeholder registry outside of the EU or EEA.
  17. Principles of Registry Protection
  18. The Marketing Registry is maintained in electronic format within the Icareus Suite system, and to a limited extent, on a network drive in Excel files. The databases and software of the systems are hosted by a service provider on the Internet, with user and password protection from workstations securing access to the interface.
    Access to the registry requires a personal username and password, which the system enforces changing periodically. Access rights are terminated when an individual no longer holds the positions for which access rights were granted, and the username is locked accordingly.
    Personal data is processed confidentially. The data controller has implemented access control measures to its premises.
  19. Right to Access and Correction of Information
  20. Individuals registered in KAVI's ElonetPlus service have the right to review the information pertaining to themselves in the registry and request the correction of any inaccurate information. Requests for the right to access can be made in person or in writing to the contact details mentioned in section 2. The right to access will be fulfilled within one week of the request.
    The registry does not contain information for which the right to access cannot be exercised. Individuals may request data corrections at any time from the person responsible for registry matters.
    Information can be corrected or supplemented by the data controller or upon the request of the individual.
    Individuals have the right to request the restriction of data processing and object to data processing.
    Individuals in KAVI's ElonetPlus service registry have the right to refuse the use of their provided information for direct marketing or similar purposes, change their consent regarding its publication, and to otherwise rely on the rights guaranteed by the Personal Data Act. If an individual does not wish to receive mail or communication from KAVI's ElonetPlus service at all, they can request to opt out at the address mentioned in point 2. KAVI will remove unnecessary personal data from the registry upon the request of the individual.
    Individuals have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority.
  21. Data Retention
  22. Information is retained indefinitely as long as it remains necessary. Data that has become unnecessary and for which there is no longer a basis for processing will be securely disposed of.
